THEATRE MUSEUM

Located at Helsinki’s Cable Factory, the Theatre Museum is a national specialized museum dedicated to the performing arts. The museum’s primary area of acquisitions and documentation responsibility is professional-level Finnish theatre and dance.

The museum’s exhibitions, guided tours and workshops offer information on, insights into and experiences in the performing arts, and give visitors the keys to understanding them.

The collections of the Theatre Museum contain artefacts, documents, photographs and audio-visual material from professional Finnish theatres and practitioners of theatre.

Theatre artists, researchers, and others interested in the performing arts can explore the Theatre Museum’s collections in the research room. The Theatre Museum’s Information Service responds to inquiries regarding the museum’s own collections as well as theatre more generally. Customers are served by phone, e-mail, and on site in the research room.
